2. Fairy Tales on Ice (Saturday 13th December)

3. Christmas Card Workshop with Local Creation (Sunday 14th December)

Local arts group Space for Creation will be running a Christmas card making workshop at Local Creation as part of Altrincham Forward’s Christmas programme of events.

Running from 12-4pm (no need to book in advance – just turn up), the workshop is a must for all fans of the distinctive linoprint style, and is a great opportunity to spend a few hours with the experts, experimenting with printmaking and producing some really special handmade cards. Adults will learn to print on lino and children will try out the same techniques on foam. The price is £5 per adult and £4 per child to make 3 cards each.

4. Christmas at Speke Hall (Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th December)

Speke Hall in Liverpool is turning back the clock for a Victorian themed Christmas weekend. This ancient Hall will be decorated in the rich greenery of holly and ivy so beloved of the Victorians, together with a huge Christmas tree in the Tudor Great Hall. Father Christmas will be visiting and there are Christmas craft activities for children. It’s £3 to visit Father Christmas. For more information, call 0151 427 7231, or visit here. 5. Lantern Magic at Chester Zoo (Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th December)

The Magical Lantern Experience is a trail to a spectacular animal lantern display where you can make your Christmas wish and hang it on our Giant Wishing Tree and say ‘hello’ to Santa. Visit the Fruit Bat Forest and the Elephant House and soak up the festive atmosphere around the zoo. Find out more about the event and how to book tickets here.
