The Fizz Festival will return to Altrincham Town Hall next month after its sell-out success last year.
Organised by Cracking Wine, the festival comes to the town hall over the weekend of November 12th and 13th.
Over 100 sparkling wines will be on offer, from Cava and Prosecco through to award-winning English sparkling wine and Champagne.
Visitors will be able to try, buy and learn more about the wine, and there will be masterclasses, food and special ‘show offers’ with exclusive discounts available only at the festival.
Exhibitors will include some of the finest independent wine merchants and suppliers of specialist fizz, including Champagne Laurent-Perrier, award-winning English vineyard Hush Heath, youngest Champagne house Champagne Thienot, and Con Gusto, sourcing the best in artisan and premium Prosecco’s and Franciacorta wines.
The Fizz Festival People’s Choice Awards have also been expanded this year, with categories for Best Champagne, Best Sparkling Wine – UK (sponsored by Lund Bennett) and Best Sparkling Wine – Rest of World (sponsored by Altrincham Today).
Each visitor will have the chance to vote for their favourite wine and the awards will be presented at the end of the festival.
Several local bars and restaurants will be running special offers for the duration of the festival.
These include Cheshire Tap, on Railway Street, which is offering more than 25% off two of its most popular fizz cocktails, Aurous 79 on Ashley Road, which will give a 50% discount on a bottle of Prosecco, and Sugar Junction Altrincham, who will offer an afternoon tea and French 75 cocktail for £14.95 (normal price £21.50).
Piccolino’s Hale is also offering a complementary glass of Prosecco or house white/red on Saturday and the same on Sunday with an additional ‘quick lunch’ menu (1 course £12, 2 courses £17 and 3 courses £22).
Visitors will need to take in their festival tickets to claim the special offers.
Take a look at last year’s festival:
Festival organiser Janet Harrison said the festival would have a “thoroughly modern feel with no snobbery”.
“It’ll be a fun and informal atmosphere, and the festival really does attract those who want to know more about their favourite sparklers. And where better to stock up for Christmas?”
Tickets for the Fizz Festival are priced £25 each and are selling fast, with session two on Saturday November 12th (4-7pm) now sold out. Tickets for the final Sunday session and the awards have also been reduced to a combined price of £25 (from £30).
Buy your tickets here – there’s a special discount of 10% on Sunday tickets if you input promotional code ‘FIZZTASTIC’ when checking out.
