Timperley to be lit up this Christmas thanks to local generosity

By David Prior at

Timperley will be lit up this Christmas thanks to the generosity of local residents and businesses.

Following Trafford Council’s GIFT it for Christmas campaign, local residents and business have taken up the challenge and raised the money to supply Christmas lights for the town centre.

A festive spectacular event ‘Timperley Welcomes Christmas’ will now take place on November 25th, when the Mayor of Trafford will join local residents and businesses from 6pm.

Trafford’s very own Frank Sinatra, Wayne Devlin, will be joining the celebrations.

The festivities will also include a choir leading community singing, as well as the re-running of last year’s popular Festive Trail Competition.

Chair of South Trafford Locality Partnership, Cllr Laura Evans, said: “A huge thank you to everyone who has kindly donated to the Christmas lights fund. Lighting up Timperley town centre helps bring the festive to the town and encourages people to enjoy the lights and all of the different retail and eateries available.”

Anyone wanting to find out more details about getting involved in the event should contact Cllr Evans on 07896 110 508.
