A receptionist at Altrincham Leisure Centre has clocked up 45 years’ service.

The centre held a surprise celebration for Dianne Swindell, including a visit from Trafford Council chief executive Theresa Grant.

Altrincham born and bred, Dianne started working at the leisure centre on April 3rd 1972 when it was known as the Old Public Baths and is a well-known face to many who have grown up in the town.

A spokesperson for the leisure centre paid tribute to her “incredible” service over the years.

He said: “Dianne has been a great member of staff over the years and the building won’t be the same without her when she retires in July.”
