A Hale garden specialist is offering a free garden makeover to a worthy cause in Trafford.

Family firm I Want Trees is inviting individuals, charities and community groups to apply for their Guerrilla Garden Makeover – but they need to be quick as the deadline for entries is May 25th.

Director Jessica Rowlands said: “This is a chance for someone to turn a disused or neglected space into something beautiful in time for summer.

“We are on a tree-mendous mission to bring our Guerrilla Garden Makeover to a neglected garden or space, somewhere in Trafford and turn it into something to be proud of.

“It could be a community space, a charity or a private garden. The only criteria are that it be for a worthy cause and will make peoples’ lives better.

“Green spaces and gardens make such a positive difference to peoples’ lives. And there is mounting evidence to show that being amongst plants and trees improves everything from mood to health and can even reduce crime.”

I Want Trees specialise in designing and installing instant gardens – including mature trees, hedges, plants and groundcover.

Applicants need to be from within Trafford and email photographs of the space with an explanation of how and why a makeover would benefit people to gg@Iwanttrees.co.uk.

The winning entry will have a garden designed and installed by the I Want Trees team.

The closing date for entries is Thursday May 25, and a shortlist of five entries will be visited by judges early June, with the winning garden installation taking place on June 23.
