A woman’s body has been discovered this afternoon at Dunham Massey.
Police were called to the National Trust-owned park at around 12.55pm to reports of concern for the welfare of a woman.
The woman’s body was discovered a short time later. No details about her identity have so far been released.
Police are now working to establish the circumstances of her death, but it is not believed to be suspicious.
A number of police cars and vans were seen outside the main car park entrance this afternoon.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “Police were called at around 12.55pm on Thursday 29 June 2017 to reports of a concern for the welfare of a woman.
“Officers carried out enquiries and discovered the body of a woman in Dunham Massey Park.
“They are working to establish the circumstances surrounding her death however, it is not thought there are any suspicious circumstances.”
