Two former teachers are to open a new day nursery in the centre of Altrincham.
The Monkey Puzzle franchise is being launched and managed by owners Laura Cardy and Nicola Cooper, who have worked together as a well-respected teaching team at St Anne’s Primary School in Sale for the past 13 years.
Cardy has worked as an Early Education class teacher throughout her career and was part of the senior leadership team at St Anne’s, while Cooper holds various professional qualifications in childcare and Early Years practice and has previous private nursery care experience, in addition to her role as a teaching assistant at St Anne’s.
The new nursery will cater for children aged 0-5 and will have room for up to 60 children.
It will feature an “Indoor/Outdoor” room, allowing permanent access to fresh air and physical activities in all weathers, and a sensory room to engage the youngest children in stimulating light and sound activities. An onsite teacher will run daily numeracy and literary lessons.
Monkey Puzzle has over 50 day nurseries UK wide, all franchisee-owned.
Cardy said: “We are so excited to open Monkey Puzzle Altrincham, and can’t wait for people to see and experience our brand-new nursery, which we have filled with excellent Early Years provision specifically selected to suit the development needs of the children in our care.
“As mothers ourselves, we understand how absolutely crucial it is for parents to know that their child is having their development and emotional needs met at nursery. We are both hugely passionate about nurturing children and getting the best out of them from a young age, as well as making them feel secure and settled every day.”
The owners intend to work to achieve an Outstanding rating from Ofsted as early as possible, and will employ 13 support staff. Monkey Puzzle Altrincham will open in early October 2017, and will be open from 7.30am to 6.30pm, 51 weeks each year.
The owners are running open days on 22/23/24th September – anyone interested should call 0800 411 8500 to book a tour.
