Local residents will next week get the first chance to look at plans to redevelop Regent Road Car Park as a multi-storey car park, creating an additional 150-plus spaces for the town.

The scheme’s developers, Citybranch, will host the two-day display of outline design and architectural concepts on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th November at Altrincham Town Hall.

The plans will also showcase plans to redevelop part of the existing site as luxury apartments and ground floor commercial space, alongside the 300-space car park.

Included will be visuals, floor plans and layouts of how the new scheme could look internally and externally.

Representatives from the design team will also be in attendance to answer any questions from the public about the scheme, which would be scheduled to open in Spring 2019.

The plans will be on show between 12pm-7pm on Friday 24th and 10am-5pm on Saturday 25th November.

Earlier this year, Trafford Council announced its intention to sell Regent Road car park.

And after a tender process which saw expressions of interest invited from developers interested in working on the redevelopment of the site, it tasked Citybranch – the developer behind the plans for the former Altrincham General, as well as Hale Barns Square and the new Timperley library – with working up its scheme in more detail.

Citybrand director Adam Gross told us in March that although there would be a small number of contract parking spaces for use by the hospital and health and wellbeing centre, the new car park would be a public car park bound by the council’s borough-wide charging policies.
