A coarse and very funny comedy from the pen of Educating Rita writer Willy Russell opens at the Altrincham Garrick on Monday for a six-night run.

Stags and Hens – The Remix, set in a trashy 70s disco in Liverpool, succeeds in making a Saturday night in Blackpool look tame by comparison.

The action is mainly set in the gents and women’s toilets of the disco where both Linda (The Bride) and Dave (The Groom) have decided to hold their stags and hens nights, not knowing that their other half is at the same place.

When Linda’s ex-boyfriend Peter arrives, uproar ensues between Linda and Dave’s friends.

When Linda’s hen party get a say in all that’s happening, the two groups gang together to stop Linda taking up the offer of an escape with her ex Peter – and she is then forced to decide between staying or going.

The play, which has adult content, is proudly sponsored by Altrincham Today.
