A Hale Barns café has been sold and will reopen as a Syrian and Middle Eastern restaurant called Syriana.

The Laughing Elephant had been opened by Ben Rose and Daniel McDonald in September 2017 but they decided to put the business on the market to devote time to other business commitments.

The new owners are Khaled Al Sabbah and Kim Rowbottom, who are giving the site a complete refurbishment ahead of an opening in September.

The new restaurant will offer classic Middle Eastern dishes including shwarma, kebab and humus.

The sale of the business was handled by Harvey Silver Hodgkinson.
