Independent businesses in Altrincham have teamed up to launch a new card giving holders access to a range of exclusive discounts and benefits.
Indy Alty, which launches today, is designed to raise awareness of the independent businesses across Altrincham and not just those in some of the higher footfall areas.
It’s all the idea of Sean Lyall, manager at Two Brothers Coffee on Stamford New Road, and his friend Peter Milligan, and is inspired by the success of similar initiatives in Liverpool and Birmingham.
Lyall said: “We want to create a culture in Altrincham where indies are the go-to. They’re what makes the town unique, it’s such a hive of creativity around here.
“However, without the marketing budgets of the big chains, it can sometimes be difficult to become established. The market has put the town on the map, but there’s so much more to Altrincham, and we wanted to offer an incentive for people to get out there and rediscover it.”
More than a dozen Altrincham independents have already signed up – here’s the full list of the available discounts so far:
- Two Brothers Coffee (Stamford New Road, Altrincham) – 20% off food and drink, or £1 coffee before 9am
- Marigot Bay Bar and Café (Kings Court, Altrincham) – 2 for £12 on main menu cocktails
- Little Heath Farm Shop (School Lane, Altrincham) – 10% off frozen meat
- The Aviary Indoor Golf (Attenburys Lane, Timperley) – 10% off simulator packages and golf coaching
- Coffii 22 (Ashley Road, Altrincham) – 10% off, or a free hot drink with any breakfast item
- Gran Ts Coffeehouse (Stamford New Road, Altrincham) – 20% off hot drinks and frappes
- Mad Mug Café (Railway Street, Altrincham) – 10% off Monday to Friday
- Juiced UK – 10% off
- Crafty Bear Club – 10% off craft workshops, private bookings and kids crafts
- North Road Cycles – 10% off
- Shop4Supplements (Moss Lane, Altrincham) – 10% off
- Sew Creative (Stamford New Road, Altrincham) – 10% off first kids club this summer, and first adult sewing class
- Vintage Honey Interiors (Grosvenor Road, Altrincham) – 10% off in their new home ‘The Hive’
- Charge Nutrition and Fitness – 25% off unlimited bootcamp membership, 15% off all personal training services.
Cards are available to buy online, at Two Brothers Coffee on Stamford New Road or Shop4Supplements on Moss Lane.
They cost £15 for a year’s membership or £25 for two cards. As an exclusive Altrincham Today discount, claim £5 off the cost of one card by using the code ‘altrinchamtoday’ at the checkout, or ‘altrinchamtoday2’ for £10 off the cost of two cards.
