A Timperley councillor is calling on people to vote for their favourite local shops and businesses in the upcoming Great British High Street Awards 2018.

The awards are designed to celebrate the high street with 26 shortlisted entries in the Champion High Street category and 12 Rising Stars to be announced in October.

Britain’s best high street will be announced in November, with the winner receiving a £10,000 cash prize for a local community project.

And Village ward councillor Laura Evans said: “The high street is at the centre of many of our communities and this competition is designed to celebrate the creativity of the many businesses and shops which are so vital to preserving them

“We have some fantastic small businesses here in Timperley and I would urge everyone here to get involved in this important competition and enter their favourites in the Great British High Street Awards 2018.”
