Blood tests at Altrincham Hospital to go appointment-only from next week

Blood tests at Altrincham Hospital will be by appointment only from next week.

Blood tests at Altrincham Hospital will be by appointment only from next week.

Walk-in clinics at Altrincham and all other hospitals in the borough are being shelved by Trafford NHS and replaced by a booking system from Thursday November 1st.

The move is an attempt to reduce waiting times and prevent people being turned away.

Patients will be asked by their GP to book an appointment via a booking hotline (0161 934 8361) which will be open Monday to Thursday from 8am to 5pm, and Friday 8am to 4pm.

Patients will however have a choice over where and when they can have a blood test, which could be at health centres or hospitals.

The booking service will be run by Manchester University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) and will book appointments for both Pennine Care NHS clinics and the university hospital clinics.

Children under the age of 16 who need a blood test should book an appointment with The Childrens Resource Centre at Trafford General Hospital.

You can also book an appointment by sending an email to mft.bloodtest@nhs.uk.
