Parking on all streets in Altrincham to be free after 3pm this winter

Parking in all Trafford Council-owned car parks and on streets will be free after 3pm this winter.

A half-hour parking

Parking in all Trafford Council-owned car parks and on streets will be free after 3pm this winter.

The initiative comes into force on Saturday 17th November and covers every day of the week.

The affected car parks are on Oakfield Road, Regent Road, Balmoral Road, Cecil Road, Victoria Road and Brown Street.

The scheme, which will run right through until January 12th 2019, aims to help shoppers and visitors to the area save on their costs while providing a boost to local businesses by encouraging more people to Trafford’s town centres and villages.

Councillor Stephen Adshead, Executive member for Environment, Air Quality and Climate Change, said: “The build up to the festive period is a vital trading time for lots of businesses, and ‘Free after 3’ is just one way in which the council is working to support them.  This is a great opportunity to enjoy what our town centres and villages have to offer to shoppers and visitors alike.

“The Council is continuing to develop its town centres. The success of what has been achieved so far can be seen in how vibrant and popular our town centres are.”

Yellow stickers will be visible at on-street pay and display machines across the borough and in council-owned car parks where the scheme is in operation.
