Altrincham business workers encouraged to join new series of lunchtime ‘Netwalking’ walks

Altrincham business workers will have the chance to escape the office and join a new series of lunchtime networking walks.

Altrincham business workers will have the chance to escape the office and join a new series of lunchtime networking walks.

The new initiative, ‘Netwalking’, is being launched on May 13th and will take place every Monday lunchtime in the town centre.

It’s all funded by Altrincham Unlimited, Altrincham’s Business Improvement District (The BID).

The benefits of walking for health and productivity are well known and ‘Netwalking’ will give workers a chance to ‘walk and talk’ while meeting other Altrincham-based businesses.

The 45-minute walks will take place every Monday lunchtime from May 13th until September, except Bank Holidays. Walks will meet at Rhode Island Coffee on George Street at 12:25pm and will be taken in various green spaces, returning at 1:15pm.

Elizabeth Faulkner, the BID Manager for Altrincham Unlimited, said: “We all know that leaving the office at lunchtime can help to increase our productivity, whilst allowing the head space for ideas to be formed, and that collaboration between different businesses often happens best in relaxed environments.

“Coupled with the obvious health benefits of walking, we hope that Altrincham’s business community will really embrace this opportunity and it will be great to see some new working partnerships developing.”

Natalie Alexander, from recruitment agency Alexander Hancock, added: “I think this is a great idea and will definitely be encouraging my team to take part regularly.”

The new initiative coincides with National Walking Month in May and the Greater Manchester Walking Festival.
