Man arrested after Timperley fight leads to car being driven at two police officers

A man was arrested in Timperley last night after a car park fight ended with a car being driven at two police officers.

A man was arrested in Timperley last night after a car park fight ended with a car being driven at two police officers.

Officers were called to the scene on Thorley Lane to reports of a fight involving men and women.

A man attempted to evade arrest by driving his car, a black Nissan Almera, towards two police officers. A female passenger was also in the vehicle.

The car was subsequently tracked to Rotherdale Avenue in Timperley and the man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after providing a reading of 75 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath, more than twice the legal limit of 35.

He was also arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and two assaults relating to the incident on the car park. The vehicle was seized for having no insurance.

The police reported no injuries to the officers involved in the incident.
