A man has been charged with aggravated burglary and the handling of stolen goods relating to the theft of a vehicle from a Timperley property.

Jack Steven Yarwood, 34, of Regent Road in Manchester, appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court yesterday.

On September 20th, police recovered a vehicle at an apartment in Salford which had been stolen from a home on Ridgeway Road in Timperley.

The car, a white Audi S4 Avant, was one of two taken from the property after the keys were stolen during a break-in while a family, including three children, were asleep upstairs.

The other stolen vehicle was subsequently recovered in Roebuck Lane in Sale.

Yarwood is also suspected of involvement in the burglary of a house on Dunham Road in Warburton, when a group of men wearing balaclavas forced their way into a house and stole a car and other items.

That burglary took place shortly after 9pm on Monday 16th September.
