The Altrincham branch of Debenhams is to close its doors for the final time this Saturday.
The George Street department store is one of 19 stores to close as part of a plan by its new owners to revive its fortunes.
The store’s fate was confirmed in April last year but it has now been revealed that it will be closing for good on Saturday January 11th.
A total of 660 job losses will result from the latest tranche of store closures, with more set to follow next year.
Chief executive Stefaan Vansteenkiste said: “We are working hard to implement the transformation of Debenhams. Despite a challenging retail environment, thanks to our colleagues’ hard work and our investor group’s commitment we are progressing with our turnaround.”
