Cyclist seriously injured in collision at Dunham Road junction

Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was seriously injured in a collisio with a car close to Dunham this morning.

Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car close to Dunham Massey his morning.

At around 7.30am, officers attended and found that a Ford Tourneo Connect and blue bicycle had collided at the junction of Dunham Road, Paddock Lane and Warburton Lane.

The cyclist, a 42-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is underway.

Sergeant Matthew Picton, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a devastating collision which has left the cyclist with serious injuries. Our thoughts are with him and his loved ones.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision and I would appeal to anyone with information or dash cam footage which may assist us to contact us as soon as possible.”
