Wetherspoon pub The Unicorn is to reopen this weekend after a £350,000 refurbishment.

The Ashley Road pub, in Altrincham town centre, is to reopen at 8am on Saturday after undergoing the work having suffered extensive flood damage during lockdown.

Work at the pub, which first opened in August 2001, has included redecoration throughout, new carpets, the installation of new furniture and the upholstering of some existing furniture.

New customer toilets have also been installed, and staff facilities have been upgraded.

The Unicorn’s manager, Heather Bowers, said: “Wetherspoon has spent almost £350,000 on the pub, providing further investment into the town.

“Myself and my team are looking forward to welcoming customers back into The Unicorn, and we are confident that they will be impressed by the refurbishment of the building.”
