Police were called to disperse an illegal gathering at an address in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Officers said they received numerous calls to reports of an illegal gathering at 2am, as well as anti-social behaviour.

Greater Manchester Police said the occupants “refused to engage with officers and were initially hostile”.

Officers dispersed the gathering and issued a 24-hour closure notice on the property, which bans anyone who doesn’t own or live at the address from entering.

A fine was also issued to the resident when the party was broken up.

Current Covid-19 rules had only allowed group of up to 30 to meet, but that number was reduced to six as of today.

The so-called “rule of six” applies to both indoors and outdoors in England and Scotland, and indoors only in Wales.
