North Cestrian student Paige Royle has been chosen as this year's Dunham Massey Rose Queen.

Paige, 12, has lived in the village all her life and has taken many roles in the annual parade over the years.

As Rose Queen, her chosen charity is the Air Ambulance. Paige loves the outdoors and is a keen horse rider, and is kept busy on her parents’ dairy farm in Dunham Massey, where they have lived and worked for four generations.

Mum Caroline Royle said: “Paige has been involved in the Rose Queen from a very young age and she is over the moon to be selected as Rose Queen this year.

"Being part of the community and bringing people together is something that is close to both our hearts, and the Rose Queen festival does just that.

"I’m delighted that she’s chosen to fundraise for the Air Ambulance because this service is vital in providing enhanced care to the most critically ill and injured patients.”

This year’s Rose Bud is eight-year-old Willow Potts, a pupil at the Bollin Primary School.

She enjoys ballet, karate and music, and her chosen charity is the Children’s Adventure Farm.
