A worker at Tesco Express in Hale was chased by masked robbers wielding meat cleavers during a terrifying armed robbery last night.
The Ashley Road supermarket was targeted at around 10.32pm on Tuesday evening.
Two masked men carrying meat cleavers threatened staff and chased one worker before the offenders fled in a car parked outside.
A quantity of cash was taken during the incident.
No-one was injured but staff were said to be shaken.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said that the vehicle was thought to be either a red Ford Fiesta or Focus.
